Students in our kids, teen and adult classes will have a shot at earning their black stripe daily up until the last class prior to testing. They will have a shot at earning their purple/rainbow stripe daily from this Wednesday up until the last class prior to testing.
Students will have to correctly perform their one-steps (white through sr. orange belts) without assistance and spar (green belts and higher ranks) at an appropriate rank level in order to earn their black stripe.
Students will have to perform half of their form to earn their purple stripe, and their entire form to earn their rainbow stripe. Students must be able to complete their form without assistance from other students and/or instructors and perform it at an appropriate rank level, in order to earn these stripes. Each day in class, we will count students through their form to determine if they are eligible for these stripes. Once instruction begins, students cannot earn their stripe until the next time they come to class and can perform the form without assistance.

PLEASE WELCOME MR. TODD HOLLEY TO THE FORT BEND TKD TEAM!
We’re happy to announce that Mr. Toddy Holley as joined the Fort Bend TKD staff as our front desk ninja! Many of you already know Mr. Holley, as his daughter, Morgan, has been a student of ours for several years. We’re super excited to have him as the newest member of our team! Be sure to stop by, say hello, and introduce yourself!
CONGRATULATIONS, NATHANIEL RICHARDSON!
This year, students can work on a a special at-home challenge called the Path to Mastery. Students can turn in optional “homework” each month to earn a small prize. Students who completed the path each month for 6 months were eligible to win a Ninendo Switch! We selected our winner for the first 6 months, and it is Nathaniel Richardson! CONGRATULATIONS! We will be running the same contest for students who complete the challenges each month from July through December – so be sure to keep working on them! This month’s challenge is located at the front desk.
HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MRS. CHAPMAN
It can be really hard to have a conversation with Mrs. Chapman during class times – so, in order to try to make herself more accessible, she’s set up a Google Voice number so you can text message her! The number is 281-454-3265. She will answer as time permits during classes. Please be sure to include your name and/or your student’s name when texting, so she knows who she is talking to. She will do her best to be at the desk for a few minutes before and after each class as well.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ON HOTEL ROOMS FOR THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN SEPTEMBER
The hotel room block for the September National tournament is currently sold out! Taekwondo America is asking that if you have reserved a room, but do not plan on attending, to please cancel your room ASAP. They will be adding more rooms to the block, but want to get an idea of what rooms may still be available. The hotel charges the association for ALL additional rooms added to the block, whether they are reserved or not. So, please do us a favor and cancel your room if you’re not planning on attending.
Once Taekwondo America gets a better idea of room availability, they will add additional rooms and let me know. And, as soon as I know, I’ll be sure to reach out to you.
TESTING REGISTRATION OPENS THIS WEEK
Be on the lookout for testing registration to open this week! Students will still be required to complete the testing readiness sheets as well. This testing cycle, the sheet will have a parent side AND a student goal-setting side.
We will be implementing a new procedure to register for testing! Please be sure to read the e-mail when it comes out next week to know how to go about registering your student for testing.
