Still on the fence about online training?
Skeptical about its effectiveness?
We totally understand and we want to share with you some common myths and misconceptions about online martial arts classes!
Myth #1 – There is No “Interaction” with an instructor or other students. = !
At Fort Bend TaeKwonDo, we don’t just do Pre-recorded or Facebook Live classes. We use video chat software so both the instructor and student can hear and see each other to get feedback making it very optimal! This is one thing that makes us really stand out from other options out there.
Myth#2. I need a fancy computer or smartphone with 12G mega ultra wi-fi with the satellite dish from space directly plugged into my system = !
Now, I’m not saying that won’t help, but our classes aren’t filled with 30+ people. We spread the classes throughout the day to prevent as much lag as possible (and not to mention, it’s way more convenient). Additionally, we work one-on-one family lessons into our availability so it’s just your kids and one instructor.
Myth #3. I need a heavy bag, soft mats, and a REALLY big open space. = !
While more space can help, it’s not needed. We teach to the space most of our students are in – their bedrooms and family rooms! And we have students use items they can easily find in their home to help them practice.
Myth #4. Everyone is going to judge my living space… = !
Lol I get it, the place might be “messy” but it’s okay! We aren’t here to judge anyone and neither do any of our members. We always welcome everyone And if you’re really concerned about it, you can turn your camera off (but then, we can’t offer any type of correction).
Myth#5. Why not just go on YouTube and find martial arts classes for kids for free? Wouldn’t that be better? = !
Here’s the thing.
Your kids could do 1 or 2 videos but never get a sense of progress because they don’t get feedback from a REAL live person.
That’s one of the biggest benefit with our classes – live interaction.
And our Instructors CARE about your child’s progress.
We get it. Training in person is better. And we totally agree. We would much rather train students that way.
But it’s simply not an option for anyone.
So what have you got to lose?
In fact, doing these classes earlier prepares your kids for regular classes when we do open.
